Still driving. Got the front wheels off the ground once. Pulls a camper 2 times a year. People love this car.
Those were called the "Del Rio" Ranch Wagon.
6:15 how can I contact you this great jeeps owner died and he called this his beast We need to resale it.
Color just might be VW L331 Horizon Blue 56-57...
I have a 1957 2 doors Ranch Wagon but it's 1970 460 power with C6 A/T
love it
My 1st car was a 1957 Ford, it had the 292 engine with a 2 bbl carb mounted on the stock intake manifold, bought it from Brondes
What a find! All the essentials of a late '60's hotrod...Metallic paint, diamond tuck int.,390-4speed,and big slotted wheels and tires. Nice find...I'm jealous...
The transformation is subtle but really fantastic. These ol' 390s pull long and strong... 👍
First car I ever bought. 💕💕
What is the paint you used for the hard top?
I had a 58 2Door wagon in high school in early 70's that had a 390 Police Interceptor Automatic that Spanked many a Foolish street racer
Hello, man, I have been watching your videos and I really appreciate the information about all the work that you have done on the 58 Ford I have a 57 Ford with a 352 big block and look at the headers you have I would like to know information to be a couple of copies for me car they look very good I like how they looked if you can help me with the information let me know I like that 58 they are my favorites Thank you
Howd you tune the ECU for 4.6L?
Carb not much good just because the breather element on? You are the shop manager, not a mechanic!
What a sweet ride
Are you still in business? If so, where are you located? Thanks.
Ranch wagon ford, is a 2 door !! Engine color is blue for a FE big block
You don’t need that drop
If you wanted to maintain pinion angle why didn’t you just buy a SYE kit and a Adams driveshaft?
How much did re spraying the interior cost? I want to make my interior black
It was a long time ago but I believe that I used a product from SEM. After cleaning, an undercoat was applied then a few light top coats. An easy DIY.
I love it great one
You guys interested in swapping another frame? I have one in need!
They’re ALL valuable these days, especially in this condition....
OUTSTANDING.
How did you like it so far. I'm thinking to do same thing with my 2018 jeep Wrangler jl swapping 2018 jl Rubicon suspension in my Sahara soon. Thanks for the Video 👍
This was always my favorite childhood car. We had a white 2 door 58 ranch wagon in 1960. I was 8. My best family vacation memories were in this car. It had a police interceptor engine and 3 speed on the column. In Oklahoma I was accidentally left at a gas station. When mom discovered I was missing dad turned that thing around over the turnpike median. Mom said when he dropped it in 3rd gear he was doing 92. For the trip dad put the seat down, put a mattress in the back for me and my sister. She also made curtains for the side rear windows to keep it cooler. I always preferred the 58 dual headlights and dual taillights over the 57 and 59. Very T-Birdish.
Still a nice Looking vehicle, I always loved the old Ford’s. The only bad thing was the bodies always rusted over the headlights, same with the mid fifties Chevrolet’s. My 1st car was the family 1956 2 door he ro
Growing up we had a 1957 two door wagon and when I was 12 or 13 I wanted it so bad. Always love the forward flipping hood.
I like some of your idea's for mods, but your lack of appreciation for a part of automotive history slays me. The two-door ranch wagon was only built for a couple years. Which is what makes it a rare car in the first place, especially when you're considering looking at the car's in its current condition. And at the car shows it'll get more than a few head turns.
Undertaker's special.
That's cool
That's a beautiful wagon, love that light blue color, everybody loves the 50s Chevys, but personally I think the 1950s fords are much cooler.
Better lookin than 58 Nomad in my opinion,,That nice blue dont show dirt much .Wish I could buy it , but my wife thinks I have too many cars already .Somone took care and loved it.
The 390 should be Ford blue.depending on the year..
Love it better than a 58 Chevy.. Great project. Put a 351 C in it .
There was no better time to take care of the rust underneath. Wire wheel and some por15 Thinking about putting a tub on mine.
Nice Find!
Clean it up,leave it stock.beauty .
That intake manifold, (if it's stock) weighs more than both heads with valves, springs, rocker arms, and shafts!
I think that engine needs to have the exhaust opened up and more free flowing for the other mods you're thinking of to work. Do a little research from that era. If I remember right, it was a necessity. I think they opened the exhaust valves also. Then the 390 would pick up alot of power. My first car was a '58 Ford 4dr woodie, so yours makes my heart ache with envy. Great find. The eyebrows on mine were already rusting out in 1964, so yours is amazing. I think that being a 2dr and with a 4spd, Ford guys should go as nuts as any Chevy guys with their No Mads. Definately get a dual master cylinder. Ours sprung a leak once on a long, nasty twisting hill. Pretty scary when they all go out. Also, they leaned like the Queen Mary on turns. I don't know, but I doubt they had any sway bars up front. Have fun. Any updates yet?
This is why you need proper welding skills ..Grinding to hide improper welding does nothing but create a weak spot, Man that is one rig job for the new buyer....Just a band aid job to get paid....
Update!!! I just bought it. Big plans.
If TheJeeptjguy sees this I have questions. Could I email you?
@@DrDragon7 Did you buy it from the gentleman in NV?
Yes I did. I wanted it ever since I first saw your videos. Do you still have the gold trim? Also he doesn't have the engine build sheet. I would like that. I'm gathering parts for a winter upgrade.
@@DrDragon7 The gold trim was packed into the car car with other parts when it left MA for NV. No build sheet unfortunately. .030 over, new crank and all stock internals except Edelbrock cam. Had the previous owner done anything? He planned on installing an auto trans, power steering and new interior.
TheJeeptjguy He changed the fender mirrors to chrome stock and painted the valve covers, [Nothing else] and says he doesn't have the gold trim. Do you know if there were hardened valve seats installed?
Owned a 1955 Ranchwagon,in New Zealand afew years ago,our 4 door versions were called Country Sedan, and my first car was a 58 Custom 300 Goldflash..love the Fords and Chevs 55-58.God Bless them lol
That's Chrysler Corporation for you. They have Always sucked.
I know this is old but White vinegar and baking soda. Vinegar kills the mold, baking soda cleans. Color shouls stay.
I dont know how fucked my jeep wrangler is now i got in a car crash the other day and my frame is twisted , transmission slightly moved back , radeater is busted its a 2002 4 clyender automatic and im un sure if my ensrunce will fix it
What manufacturer did you go with for the disk brake kit?
The car looks good, with the right tires, wheels, an overall lower stance, and suspension upgrades, it will be a great hot rod. And the Thunderbird 390 and 4 speed is already fun. The fact that it was a California car with no rust makes it rare. It will be a desirable ride.
A '58 without rot? Hell must have froze over! Nice video, thanks for taking time to make it.
Love that '58. For what your planning on doing with the front suspension and brakes, consider locating some Grenada spindles and disk brakes. Also, Aerostar springs work wonders on these early Fords - both in ride quality and handling. Couple the springs with the spindles and you can get up to a 2.5" drop in the front.. you will need to ream the spindle for the lower ball joint, and depending on how much you team it will determine the amount of lowering you get. Some more info for you: Aerostar springs - Moog PN CC850 ('90 Ford Aerostar van) Lowers 2.5" - 3" Front on all 1949-59 Ford cars www.dropnstop.com/full-size-ford.html I look forward to seeing your progress on the wagon.
